This month, we are taking a moment to thank and celebrate the sponsors and partners who are helping make our Future of Forest Stewardship Workshop & National Guild Gathering the best experience possible! As you may have seen in a recent announcement, Doris Duke Foundation(DDF) has come on board as presenting sponsor! DDF is the perfect partner because of their long history of supporting efforts to responsibly steward the ecosystems we all depend on. In addition, DDF brings an important connection from the 9th American Forest Congress to our Workshop in Maine.
Dr. Sacha Spector, DDF’s Program Director for the Environment, will help kick off our Workshop by connecting Congress’ Resolutions with our event. The Resolutions demonstrate broad agreement across the diversity of forestry and conservation perspectives on the urgent need for collective action on workforce, beneficial fire, climate-informed forest stewardship, and other working session topics. This Workshop is a chance for us to add details, strategy, and actions to the Congress’s Resolutions. We can continue the Guild tradition of putting principles into action for the benefit of people and forests!
We celebrate all of our event sponsors who generously support our work and share our vision for a future where forest stewardship is a nationwide imperative, which you can see listed below. Helping round out the knowledge shared at the Gathering, we are also partnering with over 20 expert speakers, field trip hosts, and collaborative organizations, who we want to thank and celebrate. We also recently reached our goal with the Accessibility Fund, allowing us to grant no-cost registrations for every steward who requested one.
