The NM State Land Office has a new job advertisement for the Forester position in the Surface Resources Division. This position will be located in Las Cruces.

 

The NM State Land Office has a Non-Emergency Telework Policy, which allows eligible employees to telework up to twenty-four (24) hours a week consistent with the agency's business needs.  As a valued State Land Office employee, you will receive a hiring bonus of forty (40) hours of leave at your start date to be used at any time. This is in addition to standard leave accrual for employees.

 

The core mission of the New Mexico State Land Office (NMSLO) is to responsibly generate revenue through a wide array of leasing activities on state trust lands on behalf of public schools, universities and hospitals. The Forester position is tasked with serving as lead specialist for assigned projects and serve as team member to provide technical assistance to other specialists on natural resource projects. This position will provide technical expertise in the areas of forest and watershed health and ecological conditions in forest and woodland ecosystems on state trust lands. This position serves as the NMSLO technical specialist in forestry related issues and represent the NMSLO in forest and watershed health and public education/outreach activities as well as inter-agency and public meetings.
